Consultants and Private GPs are authorised to issue patient prescriptions for medications. The majority of these prescribed medications are typically available at our internal pharmacies, currently located within Kingsbridge Private Hospital Belfast and Kingsbridge Private Hospital North West. Our dedicated onsite teams will readily assist in verifying medication availability if needed.
It's important to note that all private prescriptions must be processed at a pharmacy, and patients are responsible for covering the cost of the medication directly to the pharmacy.
Our clinicians can only issue prescriptions directly related to your treatment with us, and we are only able to dispense medications prescribed at Kingsbridge Private Hospital. External prescription requests cannot be processed.
To validate prescriptions, they will be embossed at the front desk instead of physically signed. Please ensure that your prescription is embossed before departing from the clinic.
Furthermore, consultants may recommend specific medications in their clinic letters. It's crucial to understand that such recommendations are not equivalent to a prescription. Patients will then need to consult their GP for the actual prescription. However, it's essential to acknowledge that GPs hold the discretion to decide whether to prescribe the recommended medications or not. This is not a guaranteed course of action and will be subject to their GP's assessment and discretion.
