Do I need a referral?
Who can refer?
Your GP, or Consultant and for certain types of scans such as MRI or Ultrasound we can accept referrals from your physiotherapist.

What happens once I have submitted my referral?
Your referral will be triaged by a consultant radiologist or one of our radiographers. This should take no longer than 5 working days.
Once your referral has been accepted our booking team will be in touch to discuss appointment times with you.
To ensure this process is as seamless as possible, please check your referral has
- Your details (Name, address, and DOB)
- Clinical information
- Signature and date from referrer
- Clearly referring for a scan – not for assessment by a specialist i.e knee consultant

When will I get my results?
Your scan report will be sent back to your referring clinician within 7 days.
Please note that specialist scans such as Cardiac CT and MRI can take longer. In this case, please allow up to 14 working days for these results.
Your referring clinician should then arrange an appointment to discuss these results with you.
If you wish to have a copy of these results you must arrange this with them, we cannot send these to you without their permission.
If you were referred by a Kingsbridge clinician and would like to ask your Consultant for a copy of your report, please request this from your referrer.
What happens after my scan?
A Consultant Radiologist will report the findings of your scan back to your referrer. Please note this takes approximately 5 working days.
Please also note that specialist scans such as Cardiac CT and MRI may take longer. In this case, please allow up to 14 working days for these results.
