Insurance Excesses

Many insurance policies include an excess, which means patients are required to pay a portion of the treatment costs. If your insurance policy includes an excess, you will be notified by Kingsbridge Private Hospital, and the payment will be processed automatically using the payment card you provided when securing your booking.

Important Information

Your insurance excess is a fixed amount, usually detailed in your insurance policy documents, and is typically applied to the first invoices issued during your treatment. Your insurer should have informed you about this amount, and the excess will be due directly to Kingsbridge.

Please note that consultants at Kingsbridge Private Hospital operate independently and may invoice you separately for their services. These invoices may come directly from the consultant or through a third-party billing company. If you receive an invoice from a consultant, please follow the payment instructions provided on that invoice, as Kingsbridge cannot accept payments for consultant invoices.

What is an insurance excess, and do I have one?
An insurance excess is a fixed amount that the policyholder is required to pay toward the cost of their treatment. The specific amount and how it is applied depends on your policy. Your insurance certificate or policy documents should detail any excess applicable to your plan.

How will my insurance excess be collected?
We will write to you via post or email to advise you of any excess due, we will then automatically process your excess payment using the payment card you provided when securing your booking.

What if I can’t afford to pay my insurance excess?
If paying your excess by the scheduled date would cause financial difficulty, please contact us to discuss postponing the payment or setting a new due date.
